11am: Cover All Bases: Effective Scene Communication from Start to End

So you’ve met someone and you’d like to initiate play with this person, but you’re not sure how.

• How do you engage in effective negotiation, so that you can both enjoy yourselves?
• What exactly is ‘enthusiastic consent’ and what can you do to ensure you have it, or that you have given it?
• What should you expect when the scene is over?

Find out the answers to all these questions and more, so that you can navigate new play relations with confidence.

Workshop Outcomes

By the end of the workshop, participants will:

• understand the importance of enthusiastic consent and how to ensure it.
• learn effective negotiation strategies.
• learn to identify and effectively communicate personal limits and boundaries.
• learn to respect personal limits and boundaries.
• demystify CNC play and its supposed lack of consent.
• learn basic scene structure and flow.
• understand the importance of aftercare, that it can look different for different people, and learn how to provide for it.
• understand that drop can and will most likely occur to both parties, and learn coping/management strategies for it.

12.45pm: D/s Dynamics: The Building Blocks of Healthy Power-Exchange

D/s relationships  can sound very appealing to the beginning kinkster, but ask anyone who has actually been in one and they’ll tell you that it’s no walk in the park!

• What are the elements necessary for fulfilling power-exchange?
• How does one go about establishing authority and control?
• Does 24/7 really mean 24/7?
• How do you ensure that what you’ve come up with is realistic and sustainable?

In this workshop, I will share the steps I have taken to shape my dynamic so that it serves me and my partner, and not the other way around.

Workshop Outcomes

By the end of the workshop, participants will:

• understand how D/s dynamics are different from scene-based play and the endless possibilities that come along with it.
• learn effective communication strategies that serve an ongoing D/s dynamic, including negotiating for changing limits and boundaries and ensuring continued enthusiastic consent.
• learn to differentiate between rules, rituals and protocols, and the roles they play within D/s dynamics.
• learn about typical pitfalls and how they can be best avoided.
• learn to identify their own personal D/s archetype.
